Southside Apartments by Destination Edinburgh

Southside Apartments offer self-catering apartments ideal for exploring the Old Town of Edinburgh. The apartments are just 25 minutes’ walk from Edinburgh city center, 18 minutes’ walk to the Royal Mile and are on a good bus route.

All apartments have fully-equipped kitchens, lounge and dining areas and a bathroom. Some apartments have original period features such as high ceilings and sash windows.

All Southside Apartments feature free WiFi and plasma TVs with Freeview The kitchens have an oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Towels and linen are included and hair and body shampoo is provided. A starter pack is also provided for your arrival to get you started which includes soap, washing up liquid, washing powder, rubbish bags, toilet rolls and sachets of tea, coffee and sugar.

Holyrood Park is just 10 minutes’ walk from Southside Apartments and Edinburgh Castle can be reached in 15 to 20 minutes' walk.

There is no onsite parking at our Southside apartments

This means we meet all planning, health and safety, insurance and other general conditions set by Edinburgh Council for short term lets. Please make sure you stay at a licensed premises

Parties/events are not allowed.

The property cannot accept bookings from local residents.

Minimum Age of Lead Booker (and person staying) must be 25.

All our bookings include VAT as we are part of the Travel Operators Margin Scheme and we are unable to provide a VAT breakdown.

There is no reception at the apartments.

Apartments are at 7 & 11 Newington Road and you will be allocated an apartment/s at either or both.

The City of Edinburgh Council is introducing a visitor levy for overnight guests in paid accommodations. If you are planning to stay in Edinburgh on or after 24 July 2026, and you book your stay on or after 1 October 2025, a 5% visitor levy charge (excluding VAT) will be included in your accommodations price. The levy will be charged on the first 5 nights’ stay.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance.
