This traditional Bavarian guest house is situated in the picturesque mountain village of Grainau, 5 km from the winter sports resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and 4 km from the lovely Eibsee Lake.
Gasthof Höhenrain was first opened in 1922, and reopened in May 2017. The rooms are well-equipped and furnished in a cosy, eco-friendly style. Most rooms have lovely views of the Wetterstein mountain range and Zugspitze peak.
The hotel has a restaurant serving traditional European cuisine. Breakfast is provided each morning, which you can enjoy before heading out for a day's skiing in the mountains or sunbathing by the lake.
As of January 2018 there is a new spacious breakfast room. Guests can spend the evening in the lobby bar, playing billiards, chess or cards, or relax in the hunting room reading a book while drinking a glass of wine.
In fine weather, enjoy your refreshments outside in the beer garden.
