The Lodges at Kilkea Castle

Situated in the countryside of County Kildare The Lodges at Kilkea Castle is set in 180 acres of its own woodland and gardens. A 12th-century castle, Kilkea Castle is one of the oldest inhabited castles in Ireland with a history dating back to 1180. Designated parking is available.

The Lodges at Kilkea are modern in design and overlook the impressive golf course with close proximity to the Golf Clubhouse. Each room features HDTV and complimentary WiFi.

The Clubhouse includes dining options and offers a glimpse of the castle. The Bistro offers a more informal dining experience while Hermione’s Restaurant features a simple yet sophisticated setting.

Kilkea Castle offers many outdoor activities such as an 18-hole Championship Golf Course, horse-riding, clay pigeon shooting, falconry, tennis, archery and fishing. The property also features a Spa with 5 treatment rooms including a large couples suite, a Relaxation Room, a Thermal Suite with a Hydrotherapy Pool and a Beauty Lounge for hair, make-up and nails.

Carlow is 15 km from the accommodation, while Kildare is 28 km away. The nearest airport is Dublin, 84 km from Kilkea Castle.

All activities advertised need to be pre-booked at least 48 hours prior to arrival.

Should guests wish to eat at the restaurant they are advised to reserve a table in advance.

Please note the Castle building is used for private events, and therefore there will be no access between 15:00 until 00:00 on the following dates: 20 June and 23 August 2020.
