The 3-star-superior Hotel-Restaurant Rotes Einhorn is located in the Birgel district of Düren, at the edge of the Eifel region.
Originally a brewery, the hotel is family-run since 1989 and has been modernized in recent years. The bright rooms also feature a seating area, telephone, TV and a private bathroom with shower.
The Hotel-Restaurant Rotes Einhorn has an à la carte restaurant and common areas for up to 180 people, 2 traditional skittle lanes, a cozy conservatory as well as a beer garden in summer.
The new building, built in 2017, 1640 feet from the main building, offers a spacious fitness and wellness area that can be used guests of both houses. It includes a large selection of modern fitness equipment, a Finnish sauna, bio sauna and spacious relaxation area.
The surrounding area is ideal for golf, hiking, horse riding or cycling. Guests can hire one of the 12 new mountain or electric bikes to explore the Rurufer cycle path or the signposted mountain bike route to Hürtgenwald. On-site horse riding facilities include modern and spacious guest-boxes with rubber floors, automatic water drinkers, an outdoor paddock and a 20 x 131 foot all-weather riding arena.
The cities of Cologne and Aachen are 30 minutes away by car. Trains go from Düren Train Station to the KölnMesse exhibition grounds in just 25 minutes.
