The Knife & Cleaver

Opposite a Grade I listed church, The Knife & Cleaver is a AA 4 Gold Star award winning guest house. It is located in the picturesque village of Houghton Conquest, just 15 minutes’ drive from Bedford city center and main line rail station of Ampthill.

Countryside walks can be enjoyed in the surrounding area, or venture into Bedford to enjoy sights such as St Paul’s Square, River Great Ouse or Embankment Gardens.

An private bathroom, free Wi-Fi and a TV are provided in each room at The Knife & Cleaver, and some come with a king-size bed.

A fine dining restaurant serving a wide variety of modern British classics is available on-site, as well as a terrace for alfresco dining and drinking. A range of real ales can be enjoyed in the bar or in the beer garden.

Late check-out can be arranged for 12:00 at a surcharge.

Pets can be accommodated at a supplement of GBP 10 per night.

The restaurant takes last orders at 21:45 Monday to Saturday, and 21:30 on Sundays.
